Hamkam Replaced Coach with AI and Took the Challenge

Hamkam replaced their coach with an AI in a real football match against Nes. Mehran Amundsen-Ansari, interim managing director of Hamkam, says that the players took the challenge head-on.

What happened?

Hamkam tested an AI coach built on over twelve billion data points, including statistics on the players and football philosophy from all the world's training fields. The AI coach had full control over the team and all responsibility for strategic decisions.

Why is this important for Hamkam?

The project was a confirmation that technology works best when it plays together with humans. Martin Hoff Pedersen, senior communications advisor at Eidsiva, says that technology should enrich us, and not replace us.

What's next?

The experiment was filmed by renowned director Glenn Kitson. Tina Wesselsen, customer responsible advisor at Anorak NoA, says that this has been a real team effort, where everyone has stretched themselves far for an idea – and a production – that has been anything but ordinary.
