Hamkam took a big step towards a new contract in Eliteserien with a 3-0 win over Viking on Saturday. A practical scoring from Oliver Kjærgaard was the main ingredient when HamKam took the lead. A few minutes later, HamKam captain Aleksander Melgalvis had time and space on the right side and found Kjærgaard, who with a great volley finish hammered in 2-0. In overtime, Jonas Enkerud countered in 3-0 and made the Viking humiliation complete. Oliver Kjærgaard was very happy with the goal and told TV 2 that he had tried something similar in the previous home game. HamKam now has eight points down to the direct relegation spot and will face Strømsgodset, Vålerenga, and Molde in the last three rounds. Viking, on the other hand, remains in 4th place, and the distance to the medals can increase if Brann and Tromsø win their games on Sunday. HamKam had a good organization in the first half and gave away little space on their own half. After the break, two quick goals from Moses Mawa and Oliver Kjærgaard made the job tough for Viking. Moses Mawa told TV 2 that it was delicious to win and that they knew it would be tough, but they just had to take care of the chances. HamKam has now taken an important step towards Eliteserien and will continue to fight to avoid relegation. Viking thus went on to their fourth loss in five games and now has a lot to work on to reach the medals.
