Hamkam is losing head coach Jakob Michelsen to a new club from August 1st. Michelsen took over Hamkam after Kjetil Rekdal left the club on December 31 to take over Rosenborg. Under his leadership, Hamkam has overperformed compared to the club's size and resources. The club's chairman Tom Håkonsen stated that Jakob has delivered strong results as our head coach and it's only natural that others also notice him and the results he has achieved. Hamkam is currently in 13th place in the Eliteserien with 11 points from 9 games. Jakob Michelsen has previous experience from Hobro, Skive, SønderjyskE, Hammarby, and OB in his coaching career. He has had an average of 1.26 points per game over 115 games for the Norwegian club. Michelsen will leave Hamkam by July 31 at the latest. And it's still uncertain which club he will go to. But it's clear that he has had a significant impact on Hamkam during his time as head coach. So what now for Hamkam? The club must find a new head coach who can lead the team forward. But it's not easy to find a replacement for Michelsen, who has proven to be a skilled coach. Hamkam has officially confirmed that they will start searching for a new head coach immediately.
